Thanks to all of you for understanding.

Yes, I was mocking their warning, and would have removed it from my sig the first time I was asked, but I wasn't asked.

I did send an email to the forum mod about it- we'll see if he/she has any better sense of humor.

In my other hobbies, sailing, my truck, etc., I never ran into anything like this simply posting on a forum.

I'll probably make this my 'reefing home' now, and no offense intended for not doing it in the first place.

    Thanks,
I'm not bashing the forum per se, just stating some facts.
The forum was a great place to learn more about my newest hobby.
MY 125 reef is about 7 months old, and doing well with alot of help from forums, mostly RC since that's where I usually went online.

    Oh I know.

Like I said posted I enjoy some aspects of RC and have gotten infractions for silly stuff there. I have been a member of multiple forums for a number of years but even the seediest forum usually closes threads relating to other forums.

Personally I like the one on one type of atmosphere on 3reef and obviously the mods ability to see that your thread's intent was light hearted opinion on humor or lack of.

    :)

I've run a decent sized forum (few thousand members) in the past, and I agree with this.

Personally, I think deleting the signature and having a few day ban would be more appropriate.

I agree it was harsh, ESP since there was no rule about the length it could be. I had an issue here in the past, I was provided an explanation and a warning and was sure not to it again. They did not jump to a rash decision and ban me, rather went about it the professional way to have the issue resolved. They keep the forum in check while being very fair!

what happened to warning? RC has never heard of them? i understand them trying to keep the site a certain way but really.......... if you can't joke on a site who wants to be there any way. and this site has a signature length ...it won't let you post more than is allowed. why don't they just fix there web site to do the same?????

hmm... In 7 years or something, I've never got an infraction there. Which is sort of ironic as I'm told I'm a walking infraction :) I do sympathize a bit though, I think they are over-worked, under-paid and tend to be disrespected. However, at least from your side of the story, probably should have just put you in time out. Like it or not, they run the show though...

I agree. I think the problem with rc and AA is that they have TONS of mods. Way too many.
