RC vs 3Reef

I admit it, I have been cheating on 3reef a bit. I go to ReefCentral from time to time and have joined the boards there. I asked a couple of specific questions there and usually get, what seems to me, rude responses, and answers that give me a run around. It may be just due to bad experiences, but I have never felt that way here and most of my questions are answered without having to do to much research for myself. A majority of the time I end up reading about the subjects anyways, but when I ask for opinions I get a run around. Seems like no one at RC wants to give an advice. What do you guys think?

Oh and 3REEF ROCKS MY SOCKS...

 

I've visited a few different forums and have found that 3reef generally has solid responses to questions- both in knowledge and politeness. In my experience other forums usually take 3-4 pages before someone posts any kind of helpful info.

I've had the same experience at RC whether it be my own post or someone else's post. More often than not, threads tend to get more snarky or condescending remarks than on other boards. It's almost like the majority of people over there are Aquarium snobs :-/

Don't get me wrong, there are few good posters over there, but it feels like they are out numbered.

 

Yup I have accounts on other fourms from when I first started and by far I must say 3reef rules them all cause all the other sites treated me like I was an idiot and didn't seem helpful at all
here I got quick answer no rude or negative remark didn't feel like I was unwelcome like other places

 

IMO there are just to many users on RC. its like a out of control frat party over there.
i started on 3reef and then ventured out to other forums and found myself back here.
theres a family type feel on this forum that you dont find on any other forum. 3reef ftw.

 

I'll be happy to keep this thread open so long as it stays positive and other sites are not bashed. I personally like both sites but 3Reef is my "home."

 

i signed up to one forum prior to 3reef and our "relationship" didnt last long for the similar reason you stated. RC seems to have alot of info however, when googling you get several links to their forums.

3reef is all i really need, questions are answered rapidly and precisely and people here are always willing to share personal exp and opinions.

I've been lurking on the forums for over six months and the vibe/feedback on here is the reason why I finally signed up!

 

I tried a few other forums a while back, but it seemed like it was close to impossible to get an answer on my questions on the sites. Some of them seemed more sarcastic than others, which didn't help, but that might have just been my experience.

I will always consider 3reef to be the only place for me to post People are always helpful and quick to reply here.

 

I'm here ain't I? Nuff said.
