so right now i just have the fish swiming infront of a wall of rock. i want to turn it into more like 2 piles with a open area in the middle. is this too stressful and risky for the fish and environment or can it be done without dirupting everything else? i want to do this cause i prefer the 2 pile setup and i have 2 mh. one on either side of the the thick brace on top. I feel like the devided setup would utilize my lighting better. your opinion and advice for proccess are welcomed.

you can do that and the fish will be ok. they will swim away from your hands and hide. when ive had to catch fish it required me to move all of my rocks. The one thing that would make this a pain is if you have corals all over your tank. they will probibly close up once you start messing around just make sure you dont crush any of them. also it will change your flow patterns when you move your rocks so may need to readjust powerheads.

it can be done...I unfortunatly move my rocks around a lot! You will just have to be careful with the corals and try not to break any of them with your hands or rocks. It will cause a small cycle more then likely but your tank should be able to handle it. I turn the lights off when I am done so as to allow the fish to settle in afterwards
