re-doing tank to fix algae issue

    so should i just keep the bioballs compartment empty?

    if i started a 29g with no sump this is what i would do.
    4- 20lbs bags of live sand
    60lbs of rock it dosen't have to be live
    around 200 watts of lighting
    2- korilla #2 pumps plus the pump you have
    ro/di water system there cheap compared to a dying tank
    i believe you will have a sucessful reef and fish tank with this start up.

    you can keep bags of carbon and gfo in there, there great for that;)

    yes also you can remove the false bottom for extra water depth.
    bioballs are great 4 freshwater not so much for reef tanks

    i agree libog2fish but its not really practical biocube. turf scrubbers look really useful though. if i had more room i'd enjoy adding a sump/fuge to my 29g biocube but right now just gotta make due with its integrated false back filtration system. probably possible to create a nano DIY turf scrubber though. just easier to replace bioballs with live rock, macro algae and good nano skimmer(not biocube skimmer=pos).
