    Hi all,
Some may have read my other thread referring to adding bio pellets and reactor, the reactor i have is the older bubble magus 100, its 100mm wide, i added 150/200 ml of bio pellets and the supplied pump just did not do anything other then move a 1" circle of pellets barely in the middle, pump is a 600 lph atman, so instead of buying a new reactor i thought i would mod it using the cone method, i had no perspex lying around so i used the next best thing a 2 litre coke bottle, and i must say i'm very pleased with the outcome, check out the pics and video and let me know if the end result tumble is sufficient.

    Original reactor & Pellets

Atman pump, no other would do as it had to be the right size hole to fit the plastic pipe under reactor

As you can see the reactor is right besides the skimmer but the water cascades off to the right, is this good enough for the skimmer to do its job

I drilled a hole in the coke bottle lid just large enough to fit the pipe in the reactor, then cut a piece of mesh to fit inside the lid and prevent pellets falling back into the pump, this was held in place when lid was screwed on

I then cut the coke bottle to required length and pushed it down the reactor and the lid hole over the pipe to stop it moving to the sides, also slid the bracket down to hold in place.

I also left the lid off which as cured the splashing cascade noise, no more water on woodwork...

Please let me know if this tumble is good enough and thanks for watching;D

I would slow it just a tad.....but looks great! congrats on the mod!

Also, make sure you're only adding 1/4 of the recommended dose....I don't remember how big your tank is. You then work up to the whole recommended dose over time.

Flow looks pretty good, maybe just a little fast but def in the good range.About the output,as long as it's spilling into the same compartment as your skimmer is drawing from you should be fine.

Thanks guys, just one thing I noticed the water in sump and weir has become a bit soapy, frothy, sine adding the pellets, is this normal?
