My peramaters are ph 8.3, nitrite 0mg, nitrate 15mg, and ammonia .25mg and calcium 800ppm. The tank is a 40 gal. and question is if I am ready for corals? Lighting I have 2x 250watt metal hed. I have 5 powerheads at 250 plus gal per hour. and a refugium. Tanks been set up for 5 months with only coral beauty, yellow tang and scooter blenny.
I was looking at galaxia, frog spawn, candy cane, white bubble and maze brain. Of corse not all at the same time.
I have started to use RO water from wal-mart. help would be nice

no your not!!! how old is your tank???????need to bring your ammonia down and, your calcium should be around 400 . you need to read up on stuff i read all the time any chance i get. i did for over a year before i switched to salt. just do a search on water parameters for coral there s over a 1000 different web sites that will teach you. read 6 of them and youll start getting the picture. i read up on things before i do anything with my tank

I would wait till your water parameters come down as ammonia shouldn't be apparent. Also check alkalinity and magnesium levels with such a high calcium level.

defiantly need to get an alk kit, if your cal is that high then your alk is probably out of whack also.
