I keep SPS with a T-5HO. Plenty of tanks way better than mine use them too. You have a 29G not a 30 right? 30" or 36" wide? Any way that Current light would get you into SPS territory and make LTA happier. T-5HO is 40% more energy efficient than MH. Also they run much cooler. The only downside to that current light is it does not have the individual reflectors. If you really want to shoot for the moon you could get one of the TEK series T-5 lights. I still don't think you have to go crazy on a tank that size though.

I got my Coralife Super Skimmer today. ;D

Can I run it in the place of my Skilter, or should I run both of them?

Other than about 35 pounds of live rock, the Skilter is the only filtration.

The skilter is probably the sorriest skimmer ever. If you run the coral you would probably not get anything from the skilter. You can just run the Coralife.

Working pretty good. It is kinda big for a hang-on. I have plans for a 20g sump so that is not an issue. I still need to work on the adjustment. I am getting lots of wet skimate, I want to get it a little dryer.

Does anyone know of a mod to reduce the sucking noise from the air intake?

Not exactly the answer I was looking for.:-/

Again, I think this will become a non-issue once I put it in a cabinet with the sump.
