I had egg crate and lost both a firefish and a blenny right through it. Get the mesh. ;)

I tried keeping fire fish in a mostly covered tank for a while, and they all ended up jumping out (one at a time fallowed by better and better attempts to keep the tank covered... One jump out where the only thing I could figure that caused it was our cat walked by the tank... Im of the opinion though that they just occasionally decide to dart and dont always pay attention to where they're darting to.

I had been looking locally for an arowana (freshwater).....Went into the local store and after MONTHS of looking they finally had one.....Bought it (not cheap for FW standards) took it home added him to the tank, ran to home depot for some eggcrate to prevent any jumping came home to a dry arowana...........STUPID,STUPID,STUPID.......

I called my wife on the way to home depot to tell her the good news......had to call her again 20min later to tell her I wasted 100 dollars. I was furious with myself, she thought it was hysterical.

Yea...arowanas are awesome. Sorry to hear that. I used screen and made a cover yesterday...tried to cut holes to let better light, I think I need to get something different...light is pretty buffered.
