Real time update

Many of us here have advised the use of Chemi-Clean to combat cyano. I have advised it because I have used it. Well, in the past week or so I noticed some cyano in my 55 gal. not terrible but some nonetheless. I dosed the Chemi-Clean as directed and 48 hours later....no more cyano. Thought I would post just to re-assure those who are hesitant. I did over feed a little the past couple of weeks so I will be more lenient.

 

Did you have any problems with O2. That's what has stopped me from using it yet. I would like to try it though, just don't want any dead fishies.

No, that is why I stated "as directed". They tell you to add an air stone. If you have a wet/dry like the Megaflow, it creates tons of oxygen.

In the 55 gal. this was the first time in I think 3 years. I have had to use it 2-3 times in 2 years in the Biocube. I have now added a sterilizer and just recently a mini skimmer.

I did the same. A little over feeding, now I have a little cyno creeping in. Think I'll try it. Thanks for the first hand info.
