I had an Odyssea PC fixture. Cheap bulbs, cheap ballasts, cheap end caps, cheap fans (didn't work), cheap construction. Wiring looked OK. Connections started to give out after eight months. Oh, and a cheap splash guard. I would never recommend an Odyssea. There are fixtures out there that are soooooo much better. Check out Tek and ATI at Reefgeek.com.

Edit: Almost forgot, cheap reflectors. My Lord they (it was) were terrible.

I bought the odyssea pc lights and have changed the bulbs and the ballasts. They are very cheap made, will probably cost you more in the long run,i agree with pharmrjon, buy a good quality light and be done with it.

Yeah, that t5 unit does not have individual parabolic reflectors. That is the real reason t5ho are so good. Take away real reflectors, and put a single reflector for all of the bulbs, and you lose out on why t5ho are so good.

I won't even go into the quality of the components, but theya re like pharmrjohn said, lacking in quality.

But it will be better than nothing, and depending on what you want to keep, might work, as long as the fixture works.

I hate to admit it, but I almost bought 2 of the 4x54W to get me by until I could afford the Teks. Don't tell anyone though......

When I took the fixture apart I was amazed at how horrible the reflector was. Under good reflection, PAR can be increased, what, three times? This was no more than a slight increase at best.
