well, I know it's stupid, but I ask anyway.

I need to rinse out my sand and crused coral. And I know that uses a lot of water, so I thaught I do it outside on the grass because it is sooo dry that it's wilting.
Does anybody know if my grass will die if I do that? I don't really know, what I wash out ...

When my sister set up her tank, she did it outside and did not have a problem with her grass dying. The only stupid question is the one that you don't ask!!!

    Hoodoo,
I don't think it will hurt the lawn to rinse substrate onto it. I would keep it in a bucket and run water through it until clear. If you have a large container say a clean garbage can, I would put the washed substrate in it and add Ro water to rinse before adding to your tank.
    Good luck,
    Scott
