Reason's to Skim

    I am going all coral and no fish COWLR will I still need a skimmer. I am going to use it any way's since I paid a hundred bux and am finally getting a good Skimmer, but with coral only is it really needed? I assume it is....just wanna know for sure...

    i would say no unless your corals eat foods or you LR is dirty.
    but aside from that it would oxygenate the water.

    I looked to hard to find a good one I could afford, If the tank were empty I'd be skimmin..........plus I might get one small fish later....I like the pygmy Angels but dont want to hunt forever for one that wont nip......might go maroon one day though get a pair and let em have some young-unz...

    they cheapest good ones are probably, used coralifes on ebay. I got a 125 for 50 dollars shipped

    Used coralife 125 from Gobie a member on here......

    I would always run a skimmer no matter what SW tank I had. Better to have one and not need one, than to need one and not have one, IMO. If you happen to feed your corals something particularly nasty, the skimmer will help with that. But otherwise, once the tank is established, it should be pretty clean. In theory.

    One question...why no fish?

    Why fish?
    Sorry if this sounded like a rude answer I am just into the coral thing...Maybe one day I will get a fish, but I want to set up some better lighting and get a pretty bunch of corals then maybe a small fish....
