    Hi All,
Finally done with school and working with the DoD now in Rhode Island, bought my first house and I am finally going to be in one place long enough to have another reef!

I am going to start a 55 or 75 gallon system in the coming weeks to hold me over until my kitchen/dining room remodeling is done and I can transfer everything to an in-wall tank visible from two rooms (future plans).

I am going to check out the classifieds, but am actively looking for 8 bulb T5 lighting setups, a powerful skimmer, a good sump, drive pump, heck, pretty much anything. If you have input or are in the area, post a little something! It would be great to meet other reefers in RI!

    -Ben

Welcome to 3reef. Sounds like a good plan to me. Bullet and octopus skimmers are great and I like tek or nova t5s.

I would go with a 75......It's wider than a 55 by about 6", which is a world of a difference!

Also, is this 55/75 going to be the final tank installed in the wall, or are you going with a bigger tank for the In-Wall project? If your going to end up getting a bigger tank in the end, save yourself in the long run and just get the bigger tank now........unless you plan on running the 55/75 as a sump? Either way, do lots of planning. The biggest lessons that I have learned in this hobby is to have patience and to do it right the first time.

Also, seeing as your going to want it to be viewed from both sides, it might be worth your while to try to find a tank that is fairly wide. A 75 is 18" wide, and even that might be a little tight for a 2 sided view. HTH and good luck!

Welcome to 3reef. Iv heard nothing but good about the tech t5 lighting. If you are planning on upgrading your tank soon though you may just want to hit up aquatraders for a cheap t5 set up.

    welcome to 3 reef Ben

75 with sump would be awesome
Tek fixtures have a great reputation
Skimmers - buy quality dont buy budget (IMO) - check the search function for skimmers - the ones mentioned above (Bullets and Octopus) do come up very often as well liked skimmers
