money is tight right now, but I will be more then happy to send some coral frags his way once up and running. What type of lights does he have...can do SPS, LPS or softies.

I emailed matt to see what he thinks, maybe we can just have strickland set up a paypal account and just directly send him some donations. Id really luv to see him get a 75 gallon with built in overflow so its reef ready. If we can get 50-60 members to throw in 5-10 bux he could easily get a new tank and stand, maybe more.

Dennis - its a wonderful idea and 1 that I respect you for having the idea
decency and generousity are gifts the world needs more of.

I can see 1 negative from this ( dont get me wrong, I will naturally donate)

the negative is, what happens when the next person has a misshap?

this aspect alone may make Matt and the Mods nervous of approving such a venture

can we pick and choose who we help - sure, privately, we all do every day I imagine
but can we be selective on a public forum? as it gives the wrong message to anyone who experiences a problem and gets no help from fellow members

a 3 reef insurance policy on the other hand may generate funds for the site and make funds available to anyone who experiences a disaster.
