I can not believe the difference in my sump system. it is so much quieter, no more splashing and the skimmer is absolutely amazing. I can not believe what a difference it is making and how much foam and skimate I am getting already.

Can you over skim? I think I am going to start feeding more:) this new skimmer is really something else. Last night I decided to program it so it runs 8pm to 8am only. I don't think I need to run it 24-7. Does anyone else run there skimmer like that?

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
Personally I do not believe you can over skim. I do believe one should adjust their feeding regime if they are purposely or unintentionally running an ULNS.

What are you going to do next? After the paint.

Over the years I have seen probably a handful of posters that do not run their skimmer 24/7. This is my concern, I guess it's a twisted ORP way of thinking. Bacteria and algae grow, colonize based on available oxygen, to a certain degree. Turn that massive source of O2 off, I can see where there might be an issue. Now if you never run a skimmer then that colonization is already limited, it's that tanks baseline.

I miss basements...... None here in Florida. Your sump room is one to admire and one that I learned a lot from. Looks awesome.

I turned it back on. The first few days it skimmed so much foam but it also went 12 hours with the system off with just heaters and wavemakers in the tanks.
