Hi folks. My 46 hex is finally at a point that I can post pics without shame :) The tank has been set up since December, 2005 and is at the moment a holding tank for the fish/corals that I had in the recently sold 90 gallon. Once the 180 is set up, most of the livestock will be transferred to the new tank. The tank was set up using Southdown sand and dead rock with one piece of live rock from my fiancee's 5 year old system to seed it. Because it is a hex tank, it cannot be drilled so we are using an external overflow with a 10 gallon sump. Skimmer is an Excaliber SV-1 in tank skimmer and I also run a DIY nitrate coil. It is lit with 2 175 watt halides and one 96 watt blue actinic pc bulb. Take a good look at pic #341 and 334 and you can see that one of the acros that I had leaning against the back glass has started to grow directly onto the glass itself. I also have a monti cap that is in the process of growing onto the glass but it's located in a place where getting a picture of it is impossible. Coralline has almost covered the back glass and overflow and is now starting to cover the rock. All of the larger sps corals were from my fiancee's system and I recently added a boat load of frags to the tank that he picked up during his last visit to VA. All of the clams and shrimp and some of the fish were purchased from JP at Just Phish.

Go to the full-size picture and right click on it. Select properties and highlight the URL. Copy it and start a new internet session (keep PhotoBucket open so you can go back and do the next photo) and come to 3Reef. Start a post and when you are ready to post your picture click on the icon with the mountains and sun above the text window. A new window will open and you just paste the URL you copied there and close it. Repeat with all other pix you want to post.

BTW, the link worked fine. Very nice work! I'm also glad you are not a Yellowtail Damsel hater, like so many people. Li'l B (for Little B*st*rd), my Yellowtail, is great. He is my only fish in my 10 gallon nano reef.

Thanks for the info! I'm glad the link worked considering my limited knowledge of Photobucket :)

I used the damsel to cycle the tank (any naysayers about cycling with live fish please refrain from berrating me for this practice). The fish is extremely non-agressive but that's not to say that he didn't try to harass any new fish added to the tank but he never harassed them for long. Now, if it was a domino or striped damsel, forget it...those little buggers are nasty! :)

Love the aquascape and coral placements. That's a winner in my book :)
