I've always used Red sea for the PO4's and Ca and Tropic Marian for the DKH .. As for the Ammonia and Nitrites and Nitrates I never test for those so no need to buy or use them.. And a PH test is just as useless as the last tree are to me.. I use Salifert on a daily bases also and Both the Red sea and the Salifert Ca. and PO4 are both so close in their results I can't see a where one is better or worse then the other.. And the Tropis Marian DK test is as simple as youi can get works like the Red Sea Ca .. Just add 5 mi or water and add the drops until the vial water changes from Green to orange 10 drop = 10 DKH..

I use Salifert Testing for Nitrate, Magnesium, and Phosphate. I have aquarium pharmaceuticals testers for ammonia, nitrite, ph, calcium, and kh.

Salifert. I would also buy Elos.

Elos and Salifert. Both high quality test kits you can trust. I am slowly leaning more towards Salifert overall...

I agree. I have several tests I am just waiting to use up as I don't like the process (Red Sea Mg) or the impossible to read color charts (API phosphate, PH)

Elos mag changes color during the drop method but only reads out to the nearest 100 (1400....1500 so on) Salifert mag changes color by the drip method but measures down to the nearest single ppm (ex: 1457). Both are easy but I'm going with Salifert after my Elos runs out...

I stopped using salifert when they put out a bad batch of alk tests and refused to answer questions or work with their customers or dealers on the issue. I have found api alk and ca to be just as reliable

Well I just got 3 new salifert test kits today, Alk, Ca, Mg. Previously I used Hagen because that is what the LFS's had, it is also what they used to test in the store. Now I am not a chemist but I feel 100% more confident with the salifert, the way the tests are done is way better than the Hagen, for me the Hagen left a huge margin for error on my part. The Alk and Mg came out very different from the Hagen.
