I'll go to Lamps Plus this week and see how thin the glass is on those type shades.

Not sure the metal and solder on those stained glass panes are going to work well in a humid, salt enriched environment.

Trying not to go off topic, but... all this LED and skirting has me wondering how high these LED fixtures need to hang above the water?

If it is waterproofed well, it can technically be a couple of inches over the water - but then if the optics are too narrow, you'll see lines of light in the water instead of a solidly lit aquarium (especially with the blue). It looks like the one in the op's pic was meant to be lower from how wide it spreads.

My fixture, to be delivered this Friday, will have 90 degree optics.

My fixture as shown is just a loaner, I will have two similar units, but built with the correct width and pattern to work with my 60 gallon tall tank. This way, I'm not getting a super wide LED pendant that will have light on the outside of the tank. My plan is to have them closer to the water once my guys are acclimated to the LED intensity.

So, this one is simply a loaner while my finished product get's built. The guy building my light is printing out the circuit boards on the second pendant, so it's moving along nicely!
