I have 55 gallon tank, with 2 clownfish and 3 green chromis. We wanted a larger fish, such as a tang, but we have researched and they are too active for a tank our size. Anyone have any recommendations?

Look at a coral beauty or some other kind of mini angel.

Are there any larger fish recommended for this tank size, or is that even possible?

I take that back, I did some researching and the dwarf angels appear to still get a decent size. Thanks for all the recommendations; I'm only a month in and wondered which direction to start researching fish.

If you're going to add multiple angels, add them all at the same time to avoid fighting.

Multiple Angels are not what I would start with as they have specific dietary needs and are still somewhat of a mystery even to experienced aquarists.Myself included. Unfortunately most of the bigger fish that would do well in your system are predatory which will severely limit your choices.

Heres a good place to research fish as it gives basic info as wel as min. tank sizes.I will post a few links for you to read as well.Good luck.

You could do some sort of Blenny. Midas Blennies get relatively large.

+1,this fish also has a great deal of character and would add color.A dwarf angel is also a possibility but would do best in a mature system with a lot of rock,I wouldn't add more than one to a 55.
