    Good to know. Thanks!

There is no way I am putting a guard on this tank... so I need fish that will be cool... ultimately.

    Pair of Hawaiian Flames.

By the way, most can jump through even egg crate.

That is a good idea. Also, not pairing potential jumpers with fish that may be boisterous or antagonistic, will be less of an issue. I've never gone with a guard and try to stock appropriately. And sometimes I stock with my fingers crossed. You are very ingenuitive, my idea, is a tall wall or reflector wall if you will. Maybe 3-4" tall around the perimeter? I've never really thought about it in-depth.

Yes, but typically only toward other wrasses.

FWIW, my 4" radiant wrasse never jumps, but I lost a lubbock's a while back due to carpet surfing before i had my anti carpet surfing fence installed.

6 lines are cheap, and usually don't jump.

I have had longfin fairy wrasses before, and I have never had one jump.

I would never risk that pricey of fish to a topless tank.

My male tries to jump out at least once a day - he is extremely active.

it sounds like you're pretty resolute and i commend you for it, don't uglify that tank with a screen. also, not to be too utilitarian, horkn's comment about price is sage. i would rather lose a $15 6line and restock than a $50 flasher and spend the afternoon cursing. it's silly to think of living creatures economically but it's my law of acceptable losses. assume the worst, even if it's 100 to 1, are you able take that hit. if not, save your frustration and worry.

    What he said :)

The last time I spent over $50 for a fish was when I purchased a blue spot jawfish (later known as the blue spot potato chip fish). :D

funny - reminds me of a friend I had in the UK many years ago
just in case he ever looks in here , Ill refer to him as Ian Baker from Prestwich

he had every marine fish that he bought and had died in his freezer
seriously - he used to show me his pride and joy, beautifully preserved fish

he couldnt accept the money he had spent was gone just like that
no idea what happened to them or in fact him to be honest
I made sure we parted company before any of his parents passed away.
