    :-[ I'd also bet you thats the cause A 10.00 grounding probe is a wise investment but the most overlooked as some aquarium exprert thinks its not a problem :) I got mine .

    I had the same problem with snails and I was told to check for stray voltage. This wasn't actually the cause, but it lead to the solution. COPPER. Based on my experience, copper will kill snails quick!!!!!!!! Kills some mushrooms and other unknown inhabitants also!!!
