Red Algae growing on GSP

    That looks like cyano algae my friend. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong. I'm going through the same thing, it would be from high phosphate levels. Use a turkey baster or something to remove it from your GSP and then try to lower your phosphate levels.

    Manually remove the algae and get those nitrates and phosphates down

    +1 a little more flow will help get rid of the cyano on your sand bed but thats masking the problem. as said get your water parameters in check

    thanks for the quick response guys!

    I physically removed it and did a 25% water change. Seems fine. The GSP is unaffected.
