Red algae (not cyano)

    Well I have this red algae that seems to love my tank and rock. I have red coraline but not the algae is goign nuts and idk what to do or it is. My params are all normal and it hasnt really taken off since the new lights I put in 2 weeks ago. Heres a pic to show just the top part of my rock.

    I've got the same deal.
    My lawn mower blenny seems to take care of it;)

    never thought about another fish, i have a 65g tall with a sailfin (dont knock hes goign to bigger tank within the month) 2 occ clowns, 1 watchman which idk were he has been lately. Would a blenny be ok to add?

    maybe add some flow to that area, or cut back your lighting cycle time by 30minutes..

    curious but why would flow have anything to do with algae (unless cyano) and it gets direct flow from 3 diff powerheads. I guess I can try the light cycle to 6 hours a day instead of 8

    Yep try the shortened light cycle. That may help some.
    IMO, a lawnmower blenny is a must have. I'd say it's okay to add one;)

    So that detritus doesn't settle and gets picked up by your filter, otherwise it would be algae food.
