I have some red algae on my live rock but mainly on my live sand.
Once I turn my lights of the algae disappears. When I turn the lights on the next day red algae reappears.
    Any suggestions ???

maby something wrong with your parameters. having the lights off deprive them of there main energy source but something is feeding alive so as soon as you turn your lights on again they are all systems go. cut there back up supply and your good. what are your readings?

    Sounds like typical Cyano attack.

    Is this a new tank?

    Typical Cyano outbreak.
need more flow in the area it's growing on.
Also, need to eliminate the excess Nitrates and Phosphates, a fuge with a ball of Chateo and a few mangroves will help do this nicely.

Yup more than likely high nitrates and phosphates, post your parameters.

parameters are low phos 0.1, nitrate 10ppm, nitrite 0ppm, ammonia 0ppm,
sal 1.026, temp 79F lights are on for 8hrs.
I feed very little since I only have one fish, I mainly have soft corral, hermits, snails.
Its only 10 gallon tank and its 1 year old.

How old are your lights? Could be they've shifted in spectrum. You still have nutrients in there (even a little phosphate will go a long way), so that will help make it worse (bad lights (if they are old) and excess nutrients = cyno). Telgar's ideas are correct. A fuge (once you run one you will never go "fugeless" again) and more flow would be the way to go.
