red algae

    hiya alkath here having problems with red algae on the sand which seems to be holding hundreds of tiny air bubbles any advice

    hiya jim thanks for the advice looked up cyanobacteria seems we do not have enough clean up crew in and enough grazers we call snails and crabs clean up crew in england thanks again

    One thing is circulation cyano will form in areas where this is low try to make sure your tank has addiquite circulation. Also hi nitrates, old lighting can help it to form. Try doing regular water changes and if you can use a turkey baster to help suck it out when you do them at least to keep it down a bit. It takes a while to get rid of but keep working at it and you will get it eventually.

    Did you check your phos levels? might be the problem how often do you feed ?
