I have a coral shrimp and last night it ate one of my baby engineer gobys and a small baby damsel,is this natural for a rcs to do,I do feed him regularly.
Are these always so aggressive ?

Are you absolutely positive that he killed them? For all the so-called "reef-safe" crustaceans I've had that did turn rogue, the CBS was never one of them. In fact, I had one that fell victim to a skunk cleaner, and one that was eaten by a condy nem. Most online articles I've seen have also defended the CBS on this very issue on the pretense that it was most likely just doing it's job- cleaning up the dead. Not saying it can't kill for food, but it is highly unusual for them.

are you sure it killed him or just scavenged his remains? that being said, ime, coral banded shrimps are a bit more on the aggressive side, but that aggression is generally focused on other shrimps/crabs

Yes I'm positive,he was caught with the fish in his pinchers and feeding of it,heroes has a temper I notice always chasing my cleaner and pinching at fish,do you think he did it because they were so small,I would get rid of him but he seems do be growing fast and is so entertaining minus the aggressiveness ,even when I have to put my hand in the tank when placing new corals or front glass agar cleaning he seems to come out of his cave flying at me
One day I thought he ate my cleaner shrimp but luckily it was only the molt.
Any suggestions to distract this aggressiveness ?

That is not positive proof. His job is to eat dead fish that doesn't mean he killed them. Unless you saw him catch the fish while it was alive you can't be sure it was him. There is a difference between chasing fish/shrimp away and trying to catch and eat them.

I really doubt he killed them , I am more with the crowd of him just cleaning it up.

I have had one for a couple of years now, never had any issues. I have introduced rescued, injured fish to my tank, and my CBS was not my worry, it was that dang Dotty Back ! LOL ..But anyhow, My CBS is a night stalker, in the evening, I come out to look, and he is busy dragging any lazy bristle worms to their doom. I like that. He is my killing machine...but in a good way....but I must add, that in my tank, if you hit the deck, your done...as it should be....circle of life.

CBS are MEAN. Ours would pinch on the larger fish and ride arcoss the tank. The first couple of years he was model, then he turned into satan.
