    Yes they only affect acropora.

You will see a decrease in polyp extention and possibly coloration and growth. Even if you can not see them on the other acropora they are most likely present.

Best treatment is Interceptor, it may kill your shrimp and crabs but nothing else but red bugs and similar sps pests.

It's important to repeat the treatment at least twice or they will be back.

I have never seen RB on anything other than corals. This is what they look like.

They prefer smoothed skin corals, but after I treated I saw an over all improvement in all corals.

So is there anyway that could clear this up on wether they bother all corals or just acropora the bugs are clear with a red stripe there over my walls but nothing else has been bothered yet

    Ok

Well I posted they only bother acropora.

I find it very odd that you see them anywhere other then on an acropora.

They will not affect LPS, or soft corals or other sps like pocillopora.

You can choose to not treat, try a pipefish to eat them ( this I strongly discourage) or use Interceptor or similar product.

If you google Red Bugs you will see I am giving it to you straight up, why because I have had them and treated for them after about 1 month of research.

I think you're confusion can be cleared up with this: Acropora sp. is all acropora.
"sp." simply means the exact species is unknown, it's not a particular species.

I never paid close enough attenion to how I was wording that what I meant was basicly smooth skinned acro vs all the others in the acro family the googling I've done says only the smooth skin acros would be bothered my staghorn still looks unaffected
There's one unknown acro because I got it for free and it hasn't colored up yet but I definetly don't see any red spots on this one there's some small circle like white patchs but nothing serious
