Lol well tanks been getting better as it gets older, well today my wife noticed all these really small maroon/red spots popping up in strange places all over my aquascape. Well I was like omfg not cyano again, stuck my hand in to see and rub it off and wouldnt ya know its coraline. It doesnt scrape off like cyano and is growing really slow compared to god algae. Im actually quite happy since I have some purple and now red, looks like I may be getting some green coraline also. Woot go reef. So those wondering red coraline does exist!

lol i heard but i need this stuff to take off, my nitrates are out of control since my system isnt established. Had pretty much zero coraline of my lr so have been waiting 4 months for it to start but now its beginning and hopefully the rock gets covered in this. Hope all my fish and coral make it cuz my nitrates are seriosuly 140ish with mangroves and cheato and no hope of relief.

The color of coralline algae will be dependant on the intensity and spectrum of the lighting you have over your tank. I have all kinds of colors in my 20G, purple, very light purple, pink, green, dark red, and orange.

coralline is cool, thousands of species of coralline out there. the Titanoderma genus, (spelling alert), has some awesome species in it.
