As far as the melanurus goes, you'd probably have success adding another female. Your current one would likely transition to terminal male in this case.

 

oh yeah, I actually wanted to talk to you about this.
I am pretty sure my current one is IP now... Will the current one go TP without the presence of a female? Females are quite hard to come by in my area... I usually have to have them shipped in :-/

I am thinking that the trigger in this case was: 1. the loss of the male obviously, and 2. possibly some type of influence from the red coris as it is transitioning into adulthood?

 

It should spark a full transition (adding a female).

I'd place a 90% likelihood on the onset being attributed solely to option 1 (loss of the male). This is precisely the trigger in nature.
