Red Crab with Purple Legs

Went into petco tonight and they had a small crab (about 1" including legs) that was red with purple legs and white feelers. He was labeled "small red crab" which is about as helpful as being labeled "animal". I haven't been able to figure out what he is. I'm guessing he's fish safe because both claws are small and I couldn't see any hairs - his body is similar to that of a pom pom crab but was going around the sand eating stuff instead of putting his claws in the air like he just doesn't care. Anyone have any guesses?

 

The only crabs I've seen with claws that small are female Fiddlers. Here's a pic of one from Borneo...

If it is a Fiddler, she will need different housing as they are semi-terrestrial. If kept in an aquatic environment, they only survive a few weeks. They also tend to be opportunistic.

 

+1 to what Mr. Bill said. The closest thing I could find to the picture was a Fiddler Crab.

 

Yeah, I think it is a female fiddler. I had looked up pictures of fiddlers when searching but had only seen pictures of males with that huge claw of theirs. That's a shame, it really was cool looking.
