i have a red film algae,im at work now but i will be sure to post a pic when i get home tonight, (i have experienced cyano more than once in my aquarium keeping, and i do NOT believe this to be cyano) however it is able to be manually removed like cyano. it lacks the tell tale bubbles, started as a small patch, and my turbo snail will mow through it bi-weekly...it is starting to get slightly bigger, not anything urgent (i hope) i just would like to nip it in the bud here soon. definitely seems more algae-esque than cyano..any help is greatly appreciated!;D as stated, will post some pics asap TIA

It is a dry heat, yeah right !
A good rule for cyano is that is feels like slime, and is easily removed by simply squirting water at it or siphoning it off.

That algae you are showing in the image my feel soft but I bet you can not just blow it off with a turkey baster of direct flow from a power head.

much appreciated for the response!thats what i have been slightly thrown off, it definitely doesn't seem like the cyano ive had in the past..but it has been some time since i've come across it (at least a few years thankfully) i watched a turbo eat some which was another flag that it wasn't cyano, but im gonna remove it anyway. and i have thought about doing GFO regardless as well...
