It's been almost 2 months now that I have my tank set up, newb, a week ago I purchased a red fire shrimp and when i came home from class i thought he was dead lol.. but he shed a layer i guess. What do you guys recommend i do with the shell? leave and let the snails and crabs pick at it or take it out of the tank?

    100% leave it there!!!

It will be broken down in a day or two and in the meantime your CUC will have a feast out of it.

Molting is a healthy sign of growth for most inverts so you are doing something ( or a lot of things) right.

    lol thanks bro.

honestly this seems too easy! i only have 3 frags, two clowns, shrimp, about 10 cuc's crabs, snails etc, canister and protein skimmer and only about 35-40lbs of live rock. oh and LED's i was afraid at first to invest and have it crash but so far its amazing and addicting! lol plus the guys on this forum (and girls) are a great help!
