    They hide a lot. Brittle stars are reef safe. Some Serpent stars are serious predators and fish eaters. They get them when they sleep. :eek:

    I keep a fromia star. I have not had any trouble with him in the 8 months or so he's been in my tank. Seems to eat film algae pretty exclusively, and whatever else he can skim off the water surface. I have not target feed it anything since owning it, and I have not seen any decline in health. I have seen it pass over some corals on the sand bed, but I have never seen it stop and appear to munch on any coral at all.

    I do worry about it dying a bit, but then again, in 120gal of water, it probably wouldn't cause me too much grief.

    I have a pink fromia for about a yr.my bristle yoothed file fish ate the middle of it but I now have atleast 3 surviving arms left
