Red Grape Caulerpa overloaded with red hair fuzz

Anyone have Red Grape Caulerpa in their 'fuge? Ive had two trees for about 3 months. After the first month I started to notice small patches of red fuzz growing amongst the branches. I ignored it thinking it was a natural part of the Algae's growth. But 2 months later its all over it and it looks rather suffocating. Could this be the Red Grapes version of sexual phase when nutrients get low, like the Green Grape does when it turns yellow? Or is something else? I notice that after the first month, the trees really didnt seem to grow as far as branches and "grapes". The trees themselves are full and dense but all it seems to be doing is growing this fuzz now. Anyone know what this is?

Heres a pic from a few weeks ago when my Green Grape started to go sexual. You can make out the fuzz though. Now theres quite a bit more even though I removed some yesterday. Its hard to get it out without ripping apart the tree. Its gotten all in the Shaving Brush you see in the pic and its even harder to get it out of there.


Actually you cant see the Shaving Brush in this pic.. heres a wider shot, that little patch of red fuzz in it is now 4 times the size.
