Just was trying to find a cheap efficient way to throw some extra light over the back back of my Biocube29 so I can put some macro back there instead of having it in the display. Just thinking if a red and white LED wall light would provide the right spectrum for proper plant growth :)

proper spectrum for plant lighting is 2700k to 6500k. you'd be better to use a cool white and a soft white mix imo. Just look for a cheap 2 or 3 led par bulb with these temps for like 20 bucks from a hardware store and you'd be good.

not sure if i should add sand to the back of my biocube although the idea is nice i think it might just help detritus build up. trying to optimize flow as much as possible. i think the light set up i just put on will do the job i'm thinking helimeda algae is more demanding than chaeto but not too sure. it grows like crazy regardless. also looking into something like this for my GFO and carbon filtration which i currently do not have.

throw that sucker into my overflow on the biocube 29g and i think it'll really help with any extra phosphates or nitrates that i'm having
