Do you have a link to detailed instructions? I am pretty handy with a soldering iron.

Im not sure if this is the exact one. It looks right, im at work right now and cant really view that. If this is not it I will find the correct one and post it later or tomorrow. Its not that kind of solder by the way. its more like thermal paste, i just called it the wrong thing.

That looks simple enough to do.

I guess the red ligths of death are nt really "death" but maybe a temporary coma. LOL

What do used xbox 360s go for usually? I don't need one with a ton of memory. I just want a few modern games like the call of duty modern warfare that just came out.

I see they start at 199 new for the arcade model I think it is called.

Not sure on prices but my little bro has gotten a crap load of "Red Ring" x-boxs off ebay and from friends. Im looking at about 4 right now that he has fixed. Pretty crazy. He also does the software mod which allows him to use burnt games and put games and such on the hardrive. He is looking into hardwiring a blue ray into one soon, i am waiting to see the outcome of that.

I just looked on CL locally. 100 should buy an xbox 360 used.

What is a "banned" xbox? and another ad mentions the "e74" code. what do these mean?

My xbox did the same thing yesterday and I kinda freaked. So I just shut it off and let it sit for a while...and turned it back on and it worked fine. But then CoD kept on freezing. I should look into this!

Banned means its just been hacked so you can play burned games and such. Ya know...the illegal stuff.
