My jawfish looks to have red lines around his mouth. I just noticed this today. My wife said our firefish is the same. He ate well today and is acting normal. It's on both sides of his mouth. You can see it in this poor picture:

My skimmer was shooting out a bunch of microbubbles and filled the tank (hopefully fixed now). Do you think he was just stressed? My clowns look fine.

Man that guy looks very pi$$ed off.....zanex anyone? LOL ..But really, I have had the bubble machine going on more than one occasion...did not bother my critters at all....I'd say too much of anything is never good...but I'd also say if your 55 gallon or more..that ain't the issue..I looked around the web a bit and didn't find anything useful. so,IMO keep an eye on 'em, check all your params...and check back in and let us know how its proceeding..........unless someone else out there knows. : )
    good luck amigo..

is there a chance that he may have injured himself when feeding? Not when you feed, but when he sifts sand? Do you have fine sand, coarse or CC?

hes taken to the taste of blood! He is really a vampire jawfish and his showing his true colors with halloween approaching.

sorry, follow what guitarman said, it very well could be a mouth injury due to the coarseness of the sand...

Rechecked the tank parameters and everything is good. I did a 20% water change to be on the safe side. It looks like the red is fading on the jawfish. On the firefish it's near his gills and front fin. They act normal. Hopefully the water change will help.
