I spotted this branching type red algae growing this morning when I turned on the daytime lights . The tank is due for a water change in a week and if this is nuisance algae growth I will certainly do a scrub on the live rocks to remove asap!

from what i have been able to read its not necessarily a weed but it does flourish on iodine and iron. so just like any algae it could eventually become a nuisance but has been known to be used in some display tanks but keep and eye on it. i had some in my tank for a while and it didn't take over.

I've had some and it's quickly out-competed for nutrients, and a somewhat fragile algae. It does not spread very fast from what I've seen either. I'd watch it though, since everyone's setup is a bit different, but i wouldn't say it's a cause for immediate action.
