Red Mushroom...dead?

    So I just took a piece of live rock out of my tank to make more room. I took the piece of live rock out sited and hit half of it with a hammer to keep some to put back in the tank. Little did I know that there was a red mushroom grown on the rock. Luckily it was on the rock that I put back 30 seconds after I cut it. Now the red mushroom is releasing this white stringy stiff in the tank and it has a decent sized cut through it. WIll the red mushroom survive? Can it pose a threa to my tank by releasing anything?

    My mushrooms do that any time they get bumped a little so I wouldn't be worried about it.

    It is a dry heat, yeah right !
    Basically you just fragged it, no worries. You will see mesenterial filaments and slimming but it will not harm the tank.

    Haven't tried it myself but I heard mushrooms are so hardy that you could throw them in a blender and dump it in your tank and tons of mushrooms would form....again heard this haven't tried it lol
