I have my reefbreeder 32 16 inches off the water running at 40% for most of the day but I also have it go up to 40% and then go own from 40% so a nice moon cycle and sun rise

I ran the lights for about a year. Started out at 4 hours a day and gradually increased the light period to 8 hrs.

Just my two cents on the topic, but the blues rarely fry anything. Its always the daylights, especially the units integrating UV. The best way to run a LED unit is totally controllable with all colors, or most of them atleast. UV can have an awesome impact on coral coloration but it is also the first to bleach corals. 40% with many units is too much for some corals. Unfortunately it is a real guessing game of finding what intensity is going to be right for your tank. There are rules of thumb, but everyones tank is different. Start low, real low with intensity and slowly ramp up. Thats by far the best way to do it. This being said, I do have experience with LED, but I choose to stick with tried and true T5s and halides.
