I was wondering how a red reef lobster might do with an emerald crab and percula clown fish. I've got a mated pair and I'm worried it might kill or hurt them, or fight with my banded coral shrimp. Anybody have one and know how aggressive they are?

hat really does not sound like a good plan at least in my perspective. coral bandeds are opportunistic predators, which means that if they can eat it, they will, plus emeralds are known too be territorial and mated pairs of fish can be brutal, how big is the tank?

You think my shrimp would attach the lobster? The lobster is much bigger than the shrimp. My tank is 30 gallon hex, you can see it in my avatar.

I would think that the shrimp is the one that would be in trouble. I wouldn't put a lobster in my tank. They're too aggressive IMO.

+1 on the CBS gettin its azz kicked. CBS's have weak but long claws so they can ctach worms and the such in crevices. A lobster is meant for crushing and killing........

    re:

The lobster is super cool, but I was thinking he might be a killer. I definately can't add him to this tank.....it's definately going to be too tight to have him with the others in such close quarters.......anyone else have one though, maybe in a big tank?

I have a purple reef lobster in my 120 gal reef tank and I barely see him. I have to go searching with a flashlight through gaps in the rock to even get a glimpse of him .I got him from a friend who gave up on reefkeeping. I can't say I have had any problems with him yet and I have had him for about 4 months. He is really cool looking if I remember correctly LOL ::)

    Hello and welcome!
I have a red reef lobster in a 55 gal tank with 3 emarld crabs, 3 peppermint shrimp and a skunk cleaner, and none of the other inverts are even aware the lobster nis in there. In fact, the only time we even know he's alive is when we find a molt in the tank. He disappeared behind our live rock the second he hit the tank and we can only see him if we look through the corner of the tank at just the right angle.
