So was at my LFS looking to buy a 25G to make a sump when the owner offered me a red sea berlin X2 for 40$(well, both for 70). great deal! problem is it didnt have the original pump. so here is my dilemma, im uncertain as to what pump i can use or how to mod a regular pump to make BUBBLES(TINY BUBLES!). the original replacement pump is 80$ so thats out. im great at DIY so that not a problem, just dunno how to get a pump to suck air...thanks in advance

you will need a needle whell pump , its probably cheapest to buy the replacement pump , i think rio sells a needle wheel pump but you need to find out how much flow the original red sea pump had and match it try ebay for a replacement redsea pump if not save your money to buy a new one. or resell it. good luck on the skimmer

well...the pump is 290GPH, 82$ and has a horrible rating. can i just mod a maxijet or sumting? put an air tube infront of the intake and put mesh on the impeller??iv heard of such thing i just really dont know the idea behind it. iv seen sicce mentioned before but thats a little high scale for me...
