From the promo video, it looks awesome. Haven't seen one in person yet, though.

well, we just purchased this bad boy today. we have a 125 gallon with a 40 gallon refugium. our last skimmer was a bakpak hob, and were very displeased with it. we will update this post when it comes in and let everyone know how it does.

well, my fiance and I went to hook it up today and found that both connection tubes leak and don't tighten nearly enough. we had to run to the hardware store to find some tubing and PVC piping as the ones provided were to short for us to use. the manual said to use a certain size (40mm or 1.5'') but found when we got home that the manual was not accurate. the water return spout is actually between 1'' and 1 1/4''. this size issue kept us from finding a tube that would actually fit properly. now the skimmer itself came with a ninety degree elbow fitting and the seal leaks and doesn't fit tightly enough. so now we need to figure out how to seal the leaks. we are using it out of sump so leak free is important.

sorry about the venting but this was a long drawn out process that has been a real headache. we will add pics later but too damn burned out on it right now....

I wish I would have seen this post earlier. I have the c-skim 1200 (same as 1800, just different pump) and I HATE it! I have the 1800 pump on it too. It does skim nicely, when the pump is working. Yeah, the pump freezes from time to time. This is the 4th one in 2 years. If mine wasn't in a sump, it would be leaking from the same spot you were saying.
I just yanked mine and went with a SWC 160 for my 155.

just to update... we didn't do much more to it as we have a graduation to attend to today. what little i did do was, reattach everything and just laid down a pan and towel to soak up the drips. its been running for about an hour now and has some really good dry foam building up. I will say this, the skimmer is doing a great job so far. adjusting it with the exception of the air intake has been adventurous. the pump, and outgoing water has been the only real hassle adjusting properly. updates later....
