    They skim very well. Unfortunately, their footprint makes it hard to fit in many sumps. We luckily didn't have any plumbing issues.

    i have had this protein skimmer for past 3 month and i love so much less maintence i would give a 8 out of 10

    Pump problems with C-Skim 1800

    Just saw the post by JBL. We won ours at MAX in CA last year and have had no problems until now. We unplugged the pump for routine maintenance and it will not start again. Literally, all we did was unplug it. Took it all apart trying to get it to work, pretty much to no avail. With he pump receptacle open, we could manually get it going by physically turning the pinwheel impeller. But when we put the cover back on, it would not keep running.

    Has anyone had a similar problem or have any suggestions? We've seen the posts about this unit, both pro and con. Thus far we've been very satisfied with it (I guess the fact that we got it for free is a factor there....) Anyway, input would be very helpful. Thanks!
