I recently purchased an 8'x 30"x 24"Tank and it came with a 48"x18"x18" sump. Included with this was a Berlin skimmer; the following photo shows front and back views of the same model:

I don't have a user's guide or any information on how to set the thing up or how to run it. I searched the Internet but didn't find any specific information. Can anyone advise me if it's worthwhile to put it into use(Or is too small, outdated, poorly designed, ineffective, etc.?)

Also, any suggestions on how to set it up? I assume the single port on the bottom is where the water enters, and the two on the top are where the water exits?

It came with a 3500L/h pump - What size of pump do I need to pump the water into the skimmer?

If it is no good what suggestion can be made for the right equipment?

Myt tank and proposed Sum can be found here http://www.3reef.com/forums/refugium/sump-tank-48-x18-x18-refugium-setup-8x30-x24-tank-102945.html

Thanks in advance for any advice!

They work well - they do require strong pumps though.
