Red Sea Prizm Deluxe Skimmer any good?

Hi,

I'm considering buying this skimmer for my 55 gallon tank:

Has anyone tried this skimmer? Guy at LFS said it worked well. I would go for the Remora that everyone seems to suggest except that I have a credit with this company and they don't seem to sell the remora. Will this one work well for a 55 gallon?

in a nice way NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!! lol dont waste your credit on that you WILL regret it! See if they have the bak pac series if so get the bak pac 2r a MUCH better skimmer! I would persoannly go with an octo HoB or the remora i use the remora on my 55 a while back and LOVED it! Ive also used the bak pac series and they are good as well! BUT please dont waste ur money on that skimmer

 

I ran that skimmer once and will never again, yes it worked but never rely consistantly plus it was quite loud when it was working.
Consider other must have equiptment like a RO/DI unit.

 

If you dont have a refratometer get one of those!

 

Awesome! I'm really glad I asked. I will get the Octo, hang on back as that is the same price and I've heard good stuff. Thanks so much for the responses.
