    I was browsing through craigslist for skimmers and saw a Prizm Deluxe hang-on protein skimmer for $65. It's rated for 40G, the guy says he used it on a 55G with no problems. I'm upgrading to a 40B in a few weeks, and was thinking it may work well.

    Has anyone had any experience with these?

    I've had 2 (sitting in a box around here still). It worked somewhat OK on my old 38 but usually I ran it and a Skilter (this was back in 2002-2004) at the same time. It worked great on my 10. I'm not sure I'd consider it well rated for a 40.

    consider always getting filters rated for much higher than your tanks actual volume. thats the best way to get good filtraiton.
