my skimmer in my red sea max 130 is over 2 years old now and it has been making some odd noises lately. also has been making a lot of micro bubbles in my tank. i've taken it out and cleaned it numerous times and it seems better for awhile but it goes back to the noises and bubbles within a few days. should i get a new one? is there a better one i could get that would fit in my red sea?

I'm not familiar with that skimmer, but it is not un-common for magnet driven pumps to ware out the impellers, which are easier and cheaper to replace than the whole skimmer...if it is the pump making noise.

Before you purchase a new impeller, take a close look at the impeller shaft support in the end cap, if it is warn out (loose) changing the impeller won't make a difference...you'll need a new end cap (if you can get one) or a new pump...
