    Hey everyone!

Would like to get a little bit of extra care tips from some experienced reef aquarists on the Red Sea Star (Fromia Milleporella). I've read alot about this starfish, and decided to get one, because it will select a wide variety of food (It basically eats pretty much anything that falls on the bottom). So, i also read that they are really sensitive to salinity, ph and temperature changes in the water, so i will be sure to keep an eye on that 24/7, and i'm soon going to get a tunze auto-topoff system. Do you guys got any other information on this starfish that i can use? I wanna keep this beauty alive. I've always loved starfish, so really happy i got one finally.

Just some basic tips as I'm not expert, but never expose them to air, and try not to handle them at all. Someone can correct me if I'm wrong, but if you see tissue rot, its usually too late to do anything.

Some fromia's will go after coral, especially in smaller tanks where there is less food available.

How old is your system? Fromia and linkia generally fair better in older more aged systems. Have you looked at serpent and brittle stars? They are definitely more hardy imo.

I have brittle sea stars. I have hundreds of them in my live rock, aswell as about 20 serpent sea stars. I better like fromia, since they are alot more colorful than the ugly and creepy looking brittle and serpent sea stars. My aquarium is 5 months old now, and some algaes are growing here and there. Algaes are also growing on the glass every now and again, and thats where he loves to stay :) I got this fromia, because it both scavenges, but also eats a little bit of algae. Also, they are one of the most beautiful sea stars i've seen, really like the bright red coloration.

you have like a 20g tank right? I don't think were talking about the same things for brittle and serpent stars.
