red slime algae?

    hey guys!
    i have red slime algae building up, does anyone knows how to treat it?
    and what is the cause of it?

    Cut down on feeding,lights,and increase water flow with power heads.

    thanks mate... ill cut down on the feeding...when it comes to the flow, do i point the flow down to the subtrates or middle or top???

    I point mine at each end in the middle facing each other.Also a u.v. sterilizer will help. The power heads I use are koralias 4.

    Cyanobacteria consumes Nitrates, Phosphates, and other nutrients. Using a nutrient export, such as chaeto, caulpera, an ATS, or sponges would be helpful in starving the cyano to death.
